20th Fuego a la Isla Festival

Short facts

On the first weekend in June, the popular island in the Chemnitz Schlossteich
will once again be transformed into a modern and urban festival site. The 17th "Fuego a la Isla" festival invites you to a weekend full of art, concerts, performances, dance and workshops. Over
30 acts from a wide variety of genres will provide an exciting music programme. The
highlights include the new project by the two indie legends Bonaparte & Kid Simius, the summery, upbeat Rikas and rapper Kwam.E. His performance will also be one of the highlights of the Block Party, which is taking place for the first time.
On the new stage, numerous rappers will pass the microphone to each other. Randy Fischer from the festival team explains: "Block Party means five hours of hip hop at a stretch. With this new section of the festival, we have also fulfilled the wish of young people from the Fit 4
Fuego programme of the JugendAktivBüro."

For 17 years, the "Fuego a la Isla" has been taking visitors to the island of our city into a cultural parallel world away from the grey everyday life of Chemnitz. Uncommercial and free of advertising and in a DIY spirit, it opens up creative spaces: from the slackline landscape to DJ areas, from Kids Space to free workshops. Various stages are played on, sung to, enlivened by international bands and performance artists, songwriters and poetry slammers. The unique decoration removes the island from reality and intelligent light shows reflect the heart fire of the team for this festival. It is organised on a voluntary basis by Fuego. e.V.
