Museums of art and cultural history

From young contemporary art to world-class artists, from history to the total work of art

With legendary exhibitions on Edvard Munch, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol, the Chemnitz Art Collections have made a name for themselves throughout Germany. The Gunzenhauser Museum houses one of the largest collections of Dix and Jawlensky. In the Schloßberg Museum there is a real rarity to be seen: the Holy Sepulchre, of which there are only three left in the whole of Europe. And with the Villa Esche, architect Henry van de Velde has created a work of art. The theatres delight their audiences in no less than five different genres.

So it's hard to choose? Why not book our "Art & Culture" travel package and stay a little longer in Chemnitz?
