Chemnitz Tourist Information

Short facts

Chemnitz - European Capital of Culture 2025 Once an industrial metropolis and now on its way to becoming a European Capital of Culture - that is Chemnitz.

Located in the middle of Saxony, the city and its history can hardly be overlooked. Nevertheless, it is rarely noticed. That's why the motto of the Capital of Culture application alludes to exactly that: C the Unseen. Translated, this means something like "See the unseen!" or also "Chemnitz, the unseen!".

Courage, inventiveness and hard work have shaped the city and can still be found here. If you like, you can follow in the footsteps of historical personalities, marvel at architectural highlights from different eras or find inspiration in one of the museums or theatres or at one of the numerous festivals.

The Tourist Information Chemnitz is located directly on the market square and is the first port of call for anyone who needs more information about the city, is looking for a souvenir or would like to book a guided tour.
