Along the western outskirts of Chemnitz, the southwest route starts near the Rabenstein Viaduct and connects the urban edge with rural areas. The path leads across Rabenstein through Stelzendorf to Neukirchen/Erz.  At the end, magnificent splendor awaits in a green setting: the Klaffenbach Water Castle.

The southwest route connects the north route and southeast route.
