The route begins immediately near the station at the Villa Zimmermann. This is located opposite the station forecourt.
To reach the former joint-stock spinning mill, follow Bahnhofstraße and walk past the station building. Then walk along Georgstraße to Straße der Nationen and turn right onto the street. The building is located directly on Straße der Nationen behind the bus station.
The next station is the former Neumühle. To get to the building, simply walk back along Straße der Nationen to Georgstraße. Then turn right onto Georgstraße and follow the street over Georg Bridge. The former Neumühle is then located shortly after the bridge on the right side.
The next point is on the other side of the Chemnitz river. Simply cross the small pedestrian bridge behind the Syrian restaurant to reach the former dye works Theodor Haase. Then turn right onto Rochlitzer Straße.
Follow Rochlitzer Straße and keep right to reach the former hosiery factory William Janssen. Then go through the small passage of the residential building and turn right onto Brückenstraße. The next building is located on the left side directly behind the bridge over the Chemnitz river.
From the Janssen factory, continue along Brückenstraße to Schlossstraße. Turn left onto Schlossstraße and follow the street to Hartmannstraße. Then walk right along Hartmannstraße to the police headquarters. You are now standing directly in front of the former administrative building of the Saxon Machine Factory.
The next destination is in the city center. Follow Hartmannstraße towards the city center until you reach Chemnitz. Then walk along Fabrikstraße next to the Chemnitz river. The Villa Schwalbe is located on the right side of the street.
Continue along Fabrikstraße to the historic Bierbrücke. Cross it and walk straight ahead towards Theaterstraße. Then turn right onto Theaterstraße and follow the street to Getreidemarkt. The former substation is on the left side.
To reach the next station, continue along Theaterstraße, cross the street and walk past the Deutsche Bank branch in the city center. Behind the bank, turn right onto Aue street and follow it to Chemnitz. Here, turn right onto the footpath along the Chemnitz river. Cross the Chemnitz at the next bridge and follow Annaberger Straße. On the way, you can see the Eisenbahnviadukt Beckerbrücke, built around 1909. Always walk along Annaberger Straße until you can turn left into Treffurthstraße. Follow this to the end of the street. Here, on the right side, is the building complex of the former spinning machine factory Altchemnitz.
