An extensive route through the countryside
From Wasserschloss Klaffenbach to the Eisenweg, you cover some elevation, but you are rewarded with a fantastic view over the region to Chemnitz. Along the way, benches and rest areas invite you to pause again and again.

The route starts at Wasserschloss Klaffenbach and then follows the Wasserschloßweg and later Kircheck Street, which runs through Klaffenbach. Through a small forest area, you slowly ascend the 'Erzgebirgs Nordrandstufe' on which the Eisenweg runs. Now you have reached the highest point and can enjoy the view over Adorf.
At the beginning of the "Rollholz" forest, we turn right and slowly make our way back. This leads through Adorf, partly on the route of the "Sächsischen Jakobswegs" between Bautzen and Hof. At Kreuzwiese, we turn right onto Tiergartenweg and now walk past the park of the water castle until we reach our goal.
For a place to stop, the guesthouse Adorf and further restaurants and cafés in the direction of Neukirchen are recommended.
The area can be reached by car from the federal motorway A 4, exit Chemnitz Mitte via the B 95 towards Annaberg and from the federal motorway A 72, exit Stollberg via the B 169 to Neukirchen.
At Wasserschloss Klaffenbach, visitors have approximately 350 parking spaces, 12 disabled parking spaces, and two bus parking spaces available free of charge. Fees may be charged during events.
The water castle can be reached by train line C11 (stop Bahnhof Neukirchen-Klaffenbach).
